LEGO® WW2 Foxhole | Diorama
In WW2 the fighting quickly became very mobile and fast, so small fortifications were needed for soldiers to rest in and to fight from. So the idea of foxholes became widely used. Their construction was very simple just a hole usually for one or two men and they were about 5-6 feet deep and about 4-6 feet across. They were used to store equipment such as radios or communication lines with other bases. Many had simple netting above them with leaves or branches to try to hide the position from enemy aircraft or spotters. Overall they offered a quick and simple solution in the middle of a complex and strategic war.
