LEGO® Sandbags | Diorama Additions
In wars sandbags are used to fortify defencive positions on the battlefield. Like in WW1 machine gun posts were fitted with many snadbags to protect the gunners from enemy fight. In WW2 many tanks had sandbags added to the hulls to add more protection from handheld anti-tank devices like the Bazooka or the Panzerfaust. Now in modern conflict sandbags are used to reinforce barriers and strongholds. Yet they still remain a critical element in military engagements.
Their construction is fairly simple just reinforced bags filled with sand and other fine-grained elements to absorb the impact of a bullet or the effects of the weather such as heavy rain.
They can be used in a variety of conflict zones and climates. So they can nearly be found on every battlefield across the globe from polar conditions to the open desert.
